NEASC Timeline

The NEASC Reaccreditation Process in a Nutshell

Fall 2015- Spring 2017: GBCC undergoes an extensive Self-Study process, which forms the basis of our Reaccreditation review. 

Spring 2018: GBCC send the completed Self-Study to NEASC and the Peer review team assigned by NEASC. 

Spring 2018:  The Peer Review Team conducts a 3 day visit to the college. 
But it’s not over yet…
9 weeks after visit: The Peer Review Team reports its findings and recommendation to NEASC
3 months after visit: GBCC has the opportunity to respond to that report. 
Semester after visit: NEASC follows up with a decision or “Actions” on GBCC’s Accreditation.
And then…
For the next several years: GBCC implements the projections for improvement and NEASC recommendations made through the reaccreditation process. 

Semester after visit  

Team Chair and president meet with Commission at one of its regularly scheduled meetings. CIHE notifies institution and team of its action on accreditation. 
Institution president invited to comment on CIHE preparation and guidance of self-study, appropriateness of team, format of meeting with the Commission.  
Institution begins to implement some of its projections.
