ROCHESTER – Great Bay Community College is gathering local business and staffing agencies that are currently hiring for a job fair held at the College’s newly expanded Advanced Technology & Academic Center in Rochester.   The job fair will be held Thursday, April 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and is open to job seekers interested in a variety of positions including advanced manufacturing.

Event sponsors and participating businesses from a variety of industries including Leddy Group, McIntosh Staffing, CoWorx Staffing, Safran Aerospace Composites, Albany Engineered Composites, Turbocam and Brazonics will be on hand to provide information on opportunities currently available.

Job fair attendees can see the newly renovated 27,000 square feet of classroom, computer, academic support and technologies laboratories at the campus and learn more about degree and certificate programs offered at ATAC.

ATAC offers a 6 month Advanced Composite Manufacturing program designed to provide students with specialized skills for employment within the composites industry. Students enrolled in the ACM Certificate program can choose from one of 7 areas of concentration including Paint Operator, Weaving Technician and Preform Finishing, Resin Transfer Molding Technician, Bonding and Finishing Operator, Quality Inspection and CMM Operator, Composites CNC Milling and Set-up Operator and Composites Repair Technician or Resin Transfer Molding Technician.

“Advanced Composites manufacturing is used in aerospace, automotive, energy, marine, sporting equipment manufacturing, healthcare and other industries” said Debra Mattson, Advanced Materials Manufacturing Program Director/Designer at ATAC, “by giving our students the intensive skills and firsthand knowledge of what manufacturing processes, our program is preparing them to work for positions available at a variety of companies – many of whom will be at our job fair.”   Since the ACM program began in June of 2013, a total of 51 students have graduated, 41 of whom have indicated to the College that they are employed.   Fifteen additional students will graduate this April.

In addition the ACM program, ATAC offers traditional academic programs including a Liberal Arts degree that can be completed entirely at the Rochester Facility.   The job fair event is free and open to everyone. For more information, contact: Carol Lanoue, 603-427-7780 or email:
