PORTSMOUTH – The massage therapy clinic is currently open at Great Bay Community College’s Portsmouth campus.  The general public can make an appointment for a 55 minute massage provided by a student enrolled in the College’s Massage Therapy Certificate Program.

Established as a learning facility, the massage therapy clinic offers a professional setting for students to practice proper techniques including Swedish massage, sports massage, myofascial release, acupressure and trigger point therapy under the supervision of an instructor.

Massage Therapy has become integral to conventional healthcare and is frequently used in sports medicine, hospitals, physical therapy, physicians’ offices, as well as in the chiropractic offices, spa/resort settings, gyms, and acupuncture clinics.  Massage Therapy is a growing field with the Labor Board of Statistics predicting a 22% increase in jobs by 2023.   As an allied health profession Massage Therapy is a great choice for both men and women interested in alternative or preventative health care.
