Photo Booth

Stop by the lobby for a state of the art photo booth that can take multiple photos, can hold groups of up to 8 people, and props are provided. Unlimited copies of the photos can be printed for everyone in your group!

Bingo and Prizes

Sep. 3rd 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Stop by the lobby and play a round or two of bingo! There will be chances to win some really great prizes. Don’t miss it!

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Sep. 3rd 12:15 pm

The Sig Sauer President has challenged GBCC to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and funds for ALS. President Arvelo has accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on behalf of GBCC. Several staff and faculty will join him on Wednesday, September 3 at 12:15. To make things interesting and raise additional money, each participants’ ice bucket will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The bidder will then get to pour ice cold water on the participant. All money raised will be donated to the ALS Association – Northern New England Chapter and SGA will match it!

Tie-Dye T-shirts

Take a break between classes to make a unique tie-dye t-shirt. There will be plenty of supplies and t-shirts will be provided, or bring your own.

Golf Team Info Session

Sep. 4th 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Josh, the golf team coach, will be on campus to meet with interested students about the GBCC golf team. Attend this meeting and find out more about the practice and tournament schedule for the upcoming season.

Welcome Back Party and Drive-In Movie

Sep. 5th 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Student Life is sponsoring a night of fun for all students and their guests to kick off the start of a new Fall semester. We will be holding a cookout to start off the night. There will be games set up to pass the time until dusk and then we’ll be showing Godzilla on the big screen before it’s released to the public. Bring your appetites and a blanket to watch the movie on. It’s going to be a great time. (If it rains, we will be holding this event in the main lobby of the college.)

Cardio kickboxing

Sep. 9th 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Cardio kickboxing combines martial arts kicking and punching techniques with an aerobic-style exercise routine. It’s a great workout and our instructor works for the YMCA and is highly recommended!

Advanced Composites Manufacturing Information Session

Manufacturing is booming, and the jobs are there for people that are trained. Come and learn the wonderful opportunities that students have at Great Bay's Advance Technology & Academic Center for a viable career in manufacturing. Sessions last approximately 1 hour and are only offered at the Advance Technology & Academic Center in Rochester.

9/11 Day of Service

Sep. 12th 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Student Life is holding a 9/11 Day of Service on September 12th. We will be meeting at the college and then heading over to the Greenleaf Rec Center, working with Seacoast Adopt a Block, a program of Operation Blessing. Projects for the day are still to be decided, but you’re sure to work up a sweat and feel great doing it. Transportation and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. We are looking for 20-25 people (faculty, staff, and students). This event will count towards the 100 Hour Club, if you are participating.

Movie Night

Student Life is offering tickets to see an upcoming movie at Cinemagic Cinemas on Route 1 in Portsmouth. The chosen movie and show time will be posted with the sign-up sheet in Student Life 3-4 days before. Please arrive at the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to the movie to ensure you get your ticket. Must bring a valid GBCC Student ID to receive ticket.
