At this level, emphasis is on comprehending and producing written English. The course focuses on strategy-based activities of information gathering, summarizing, reading for information, and problem solving. Students develop vocabulary and academic reading skills and practice writing in various forms. Students at this level will use readings as models for developing effective writing skills. Grammar is taught in the context of all language skills.
