NCHC131G - Home Health Aide Apprenticeship Course


This 144-hour course is designed as the classroom portion of the Home Health Aide Apprenticeship Program through the US Department of Labor. Through classroom instruction, students will become competent in technical skills such as:

  • Infection Control
  • Personal & Client Safety Body Mechanics
  • Health Maintenance Tasks
  • In-home Nutritional Support
  • Cognitive Impairment and Dementia Care
  • Palliative and Hospice Care
  • Specific Illnesses

Students will also demonstrate knowledge and practice of professional skills such as

  • Client Confidentiality and Bill of Rights
  • Communication
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Critical Thinking
  • Problem Solving
