For community volunteers , new and potential board members of nonprofit organizations or staff members who wish to deepen their knowledge of nonprofit management. Students will:

  • Explore the unique structure and legal requirements for nonprofit organizations
  • Know how to create and leverage a compelling mission statement
  • Recognize connections between finances, fundraising and program development
  • Idenify board/staff responsibilities and best practices for managing a nonprofit organization
  • Identify current economic, social and political issues that may influence a nonprofit organization’s effectiveness
  • Identify ethical issues and challenges that may influence organizational effectiveness
