For community leaders of all types: directors, board members, staff and volunteers in nonprofit organizations and those looking to deepen their knowledge. The focus of this course is on a strength approach to leadership and community development.
Students will:

  • Identify key concepts of building an organization and involving others in the leadership process
  • Reflect on their own goals, skills and attitudes as a community leader
  • Explore group dynamics, relational leadership, conflict styles, strengths leadership and change leadership
  • Obtain tools to create, organize, and supervise an empowering volunteer program
