This course examines the impact of business environments on personal and career effectiveness in the hospitality management field. The primary focus includes extensive study of current developments and issues facing employers in the hospitality industry. Particular emphasis is given to selected readings and case studies dealing with a variety of topics including essential business communication skills, the impact of technology, ethical decision making, and managing effective teams. The secondary focus of this course is to provide students with the necessary career development skills needed for a successful transition onto the next stage of his or her career.
