This course in the IST Security track focuses on the overall security processes with an emphasis on secure perimeter, secure connectivity, security management, identity services, and intrusion detection. Specific labs include data encryption technology, VPNs including L2TP, PPTP, GRE, and IKE, AAA Security, TACACS+, IPSec, Perimeter routers & advanced ACL/CBAC/PAM, TCP Intercept & Denial of Service attacks, NAT/PAT. Some knowledge of TCP/IP protocol is assumed. This is a Cisco Academy course and covers many of the Security+ Certification Domains of Knowledge and is recognized as CNSS 4011.
Prerequisite: IST 123G or permission of Instructor
