This course will focus on the Y14.5-2009 drafting standard. Building on the introduction to GD&T students received in ACM120G. Using example drawings and parts, students will practice interpreting symbols and specifications based on the standard and inspect parts to determine if they meet specifications. We will discuss the need for the standard with a focus on how it can reduce waste, save money and improve quality when properly implemented and interpreted. Prerequisites: ACM120 with a C or better or better or permission of department chair. Spring semesterÂ
